BBS LM 5x100: 18x9 +35 / 18x9.5 +38 Fitment Guide

BBS LM wheels are a sought-after multi-piece choice for Japanese performance cars, and genuine 5x100 LM sets are relatively uncommon. HausofWheels currently has a used staggered BBS LM set in 5x100 with 18x9 +35 front wheels and 18x9.5 +38 rear wheels, paired with 245/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.
This article explains how to evaluate that specification. It is a fitment reference, not a claim that the set is a universal bolt-on option for every 5x100 car.
Current BBS LM 5x100 specification
The current BBS LM 5x100 set is configured as:
- Front: 18x9 +35
- Rear: 18x9.5 +38
- PCD: 5x100
- Configuration: staggered
- Tyres: 245/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 front and rear
- Genuine BBS centre caps and valve hardware included
Because the front and rear wheel widths differ, the same nominal tyre size will sit differently on each wheel. The complete package should be assessed on the exact vehicle rather than using PCD alone.
What cars use 5x100?
Common 5x100 platforms include the Toyota 86, Toyota GR86, Subaru BRZ and selected Subaru WRX models. That does not mean this particular BBS LM specification automatically fits every one of those cars.
Use the relevant vehicle collection as a starting point: GR86 / BRZ ZN8-ZD8 wheels, Toyota 86 / BRZ ZN6-ZC6 wheels or Subaru WRX 5x100 wheels.
Why width and offset matter
Wheel width controls how far the wheel extends from its centreline, while offset positions that width relative to the hub. An 18x9 +35 front wheel and an 18x9.5 +38 rear wheel therefore have different inner and outer positions despite the similar offset numbers.
For any vehicle, check both inner suspension clearance and outer guard clearance. Ride height, camber, tyre measured width and brake package can all change whether the wheel-and-tyre package clears comfortably.
Staggered BBS LM fitment on a 5x100 car
A staggered setup uses different front and rear wheel widths. On a rear-wheel-drive 86/BRZ platform, this can create a wider rear appearance, but the tyre package and handling goals should still be considered carefully.
For an all-wheel-drive Subaru application, additional care is appropriate. Confirm the complete tyre package and rolling circumference requirements for the exact vehicle before using a staggered-width wheel setup. Matching the nominal tyre size does not remove the need to check the vehicle manufacturer's AWD requirements and the tyre manufacturer's measured dimensions.
Brake clearance is wheel-design specific
Diameter and offset do not guarantee brake clearance. The shape of the BBS LM centre, spoke profile and inner barrel all influence caliper clearance. Cars with factory or aftermarket larger brake packages should have the exact wheel checked before purchase.
Used BBS LM condition checks
The current set is used and the listing notes rash on the front and rear wheels, with the finish suitable for a polish or refurbishment depending on the buyer's expectations. When buying a used multi-piece wheel, review the photos carefully and consider cosmetic condition separately from fitment.

BBS LM 5x100 FAQ
Does 5x100 mean these BBS LMs fit a GR86 or BRZ?
No. The PCD matches, but width, offset, tyre size, suspension, alignment and brake clearance still need to be confirmed on the exact car.
Are the front and rear wheels the same size?
No. The current set is staggered: 18x9 +35 front and 18x9.5 +38 rear.
Why are both ends using 245/40R18 tyres?
That is the tyre size fitted to the current set. The same nominal tyre width can sit differently on 9-inch and 9.5-inch wheels, so check the actual tyre package and clearance for your vehicle.
Where can I compare other 5x100 wheels?
Browse all 5x100 wheels, the BBS wheel collection, or current 5x100 18-inch wheels.
If you are considering this BBS LM set, send HausofWheels your exact vehicle, model year, brake package, suspension setup and current wheel/tyre specification before ordering so the fitment can be checked more accurately.
